I've got a brand new elbow!

Well, it's been four weeks since I got the cast on my left arm, and today it came off!!!! I'm in a shorter cast for the next four weeks, and since it doesn't come to my elbow, I have much lighter restrictions. For instance, I can type again. I still have to break the habit of hitting the space bar with my left thumb since it's still in the cast, but I can move my elbow again, so the other four fingers move just fine.
Now, I still don't have use of my thumb, so I still have to do anything that requires gripping right-handed. This is stuff like writing, shampooing, etc.
When I got the cast off, I immediately noticed that my eblow and wrist were sore. The wrist didn't matter, since it was really only uncasted for about 25 minutes, but the elbow has been a bit of a problem. The doctor told me it would feel still for a day or two, and might even pop as it regains full range of motion. He said, "It'll feel kinda like having a brand new elbow." Well, thanks Doc, that lets me know exactly what I should expect.

Where are my audio posts?

So because of this cast on my arm, I've been calling in audio posts for the past week. For some reason they're not showing up, so now I've given up and I'm typing with one hand.
For those of you who wish I wrote shorter posts, you're in luck! I now type about 15-20 words per minute. sloooooow.
So, the news on the wrist came in a week ago. I'm in a spiked cast that goes past my elbow for another three weeks. That will immediarely followed by four weeks in a short spiked cast (spiked means over the thumb.) At that point we hope everything is healed and I can begin recovering. There's a chance that when the cast comes off, the bone won't be healed and a bone graft would be the next thing.
The trip to Denton/Fort Worth was great! All the Denton friends I got to see are doing geat, and I got to see Jordan who had just returned from two straight weeks of church camp and mission trip.
"Joseph" opens one week from today and there is much left to clean and get ready.
Finally, congratulations to my friend Katie Clarke. Her first Broadway show (in which she starred) ended this past week, and she has already landed another role in the workshop production of the newest musical by the people who wrote "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."
